Fishing with a boilie is relatively simple. As a rule, the boilie is fished using a ledger rig with a fixed or free weight. The fishing bait is then pierced with a boilie drill and then threaded through with a boilie needle. The bait is then pulled onto the leader - ideally a boilie leader with a hair rig. The hair is an extension of the boilie leader behind the hook. There is a loop on the hair of the boilie leader. After the boilie has been pulled onto the hair, a so-called boilie stopper is threaded through the loop of the boilie leader. This boilie stopper prevents the fishing bait - that is, the boilie or pellet - from slipping off the hair of the boilie leader when casting.
